Management Team

Lab-One's management brings a wealth of experience in the VC industry and in the communications and IT industries. The team has been operating together successfully for several years. The team is led by: 

    Uri Weinheber, CEO

Uri joined Lab-One in 2007 as Chief Executive Officer, bringing 14 years of industry experience, most of them in management positions, strategic planning, early stage ventures and business development. Prior to joining Lab-One, Uri held consulting positions in various software and telecom companies, including Netcom Group, TDnet, Teldan and others. Prior to that, Uri was the founder and served for 6 years as CEO of VirtualSelf, a pioneering unstructured-data real-time analysis SW company. Led by Uri, VirtualSelf received major investment from TelecomItalia and was acquired in 2004 by TDNet. Prior to that position, Uri held consulting positions at Xerox (NYSE - XRX), RadWare (NASDAQ - RDWR), XMPie (Acquired by Xerox), Agentix, Ubique (then a subsidiary of AOL), RTimage, Scitex (NASDAQ - SCIX), ClickSoftware (NASDAQ - CKSW) and many others. Previously, Uri served as VP of products at Pitango Multimedia, a Scitex subsidiary. Uri started his career as an application engineer
at Scitex.
Uri earned his BscTe in Products Design from Tel-Aviv University (Magna Cum Laude). Uri holds a Lieutenant-Colonel rank and serves as a Division Commander Deputy, IDF reserves.
     
    Dr. Barak Ben-Avinoam, COO


Barak held several C-level executive positions with technology companies and accumulated vast international business development and sales experience with leading Global 2000 companies.

His previous positions include: Co-Founder & CEO of Prolify, Co-Founder & CEO of Flash Networks, General Manager (Europe) at Business Layers.

Barak holds an MBA and a DBA, both at the International School of Management in Paris, and holds a B.Sc. in Information Systems from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Barak is also a visiting professor for international business and entrepreneurship at several MBA programs in Paris.

     
    Ofer Wald - EIR
Ofer is a serial entrepreneur which was a co-founder in Surfree, Israel's free ISP which was later sold to bezeq international and Oversi which received funding from top-tier VCs, Siemens and Cisco. Ofer is now working on his new startup that will revolutionize the way that people connect and share data on the Internet.
     
 
  Merry Goldberg - Comptroller
Merry Goldberg joined Lab-One (then Nitzanim) in 1994, and has been the Comptroller for the incubator and its portfolio companies ever since, handling all financial activities such as book-keeping, budget control, reports to the Chief Scientist's Office, and financial reporting. Prior to Lab-One, Merry has held accounting positions with Israeli companies for over 20 years.
     
    Yael Tsahor - Administration Manager
Yael Tsahor joined Lab-One in 2007, with a rich experience in previous positions.
She has earned her BA degree in Sociology and Education from Tel-Aviv University
